Mary Neal, LPC-MHSP
Mary is a licensed professional counselor, mental health service provider, and a TN Board approved supervisor for counselors working toward licensure. Mary has worked for a Behavioral Health hospital for the past ten years and has experience working with all ages, populations, and diagnoses. She has extensive experience in crisis management, relationship stressors, work/life balance, and working with individuals and families. Mary runs a weekly young adult group for professionals and college students.
Mary has a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Eckerd College and a Master’s degree in Clinical–Counseling Psychology from Valdosta State University. Mary is from Memphis and has a passion for working with those who suffer from anxiety, depression, and trauma. Mary is trained in EMDR trauma therapy, and has advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral therapy and perinatal mental health, working with pregnant and postpartum women and their families. Mary volunteers at the Church Health Center and holds two community leadership positions, including the Vice Chair of the Region 7 Policy and Planning Council for the TN Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse for Shelby County and Secretary of the West TN Counseling Association. Mary is married and a Mom, and when not working, enjoys spending time playing cards with her family, trips to New Orleans and the beach, reading, and spending time outdoors. Mary is also excited to start working on her Ph.D. at the University of Memphis in the fall of 2020.
